Although details of when the group was originally formed are a little sketchy, we felt pretty confident that in 2024 Huntingdonshire Ramblers would be 50 years old. Thats a lot of miles walked, footpaths explored (close to home and further afield) and adventures had.
And because 50 is a significant birthday and cannot go unnoticed, a number of social events were planned for the summer months, including a boat trip in collaboration with the St Ives Electric Boat Company, and a shared picnic to conclude one of our regular walks along the river between Houghton and St Ives.
Our members come from across Huntingdonshire, and we generally meet once a week for a walk, distance 5 – 12 miles, and also do shorter walks during summer evenings midweek.
We hope our mixed program appeals to all, and we are always happy to welcome new faces. Potential new Ramblers can join us for a walk or two, to see if they want to sign up.
