All Saints Parish Church, St Ives, was pleased to make a donation to The Friends of Holt Island Nature Reserve for their ongoing conservation work, and to thank them for supporting the installation of swift boxes in the church belfry. The project was completed earlier in the year in partnership with the church and Action for Swifts.
A presentation was made to The Friends of Holt Island on Tuesday 9 June as part of their display in the church for the St Ives Big Green Week.
The donation came from the most recent Booze in the Pews festival, from which 10 per cent of the profits had been set aside to support environmental causes.
The parochial church council welcomes written nominations for local groups and charitable causes to be considered for donations from future beer festival profits; these can be sent to pcc.secretary@stivesparishchurch.org.uk.
