Profile
Cambridgeshire Deaf Association (CDA) is a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of deaf and hard of hearing people across Cambridgeshire. Established in 1929, we provide specialist services, advocacy, and community activities that promote equality, independence, and inclusion.
Our work covers a wide range of support. Through CDA Hearing Help, we run over 30 free community drop-in sessions where trained volunteers provide maintenance for NHS hearing aids, including retubing, cleaning, and battery supply. We also deliver social groups, befriending services, and outreach projects to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
CDA supports the Deaf community with British Sign Language (BSL) classes, accessible events, and guidance on accessing services. We also work in partnership with local councils, health providers, and other organisations to improve accessibility and raise deaf awareness across the county.
Our vision is a society where deaf and hard of hearing people are fully included, empowered, and able to thrive.
