St Ives Community Choir struck a chord by raising more than £1,200 for Caring Together Charity with their sensational summer concert.
An excellent crowd of more than 100 people soaked up the sounds at St Ives Free Church, enjoying a marvellous mix of music featuring classics from The Beatles, Bryan Adams and The Eagles and songs from shows such as Grease, Dirty Dancing and The Lion King, plus much, much more.
Thanks to proceeds from ticket sales and a raffle, the event raised this fantastic four-figure sum for Caring Together, a St Ives-based charity supporting unpaid carers across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk.
Staff and volunteers from Caring Together supported the concert by checking tickets, providing refreshments and talking to audience members about the services they offer to carers.
Caring Together Charity community fundraiser Lynnette Ballantyne, who gave a presentation about the charity, said: “What an incredible night! St Ives Community Choir put on a brilliant concert and we are hugely thankful to them for supporting Caring Together.
“We are delighted with the amount raised. These vital funds will make a huge impact in helping us reach more carers in the region.”
St Ives Community Choir musical director Hazel Shah said: “It was great to see so many people come and support the concert and I was so proud of how well the choir performed.
“We are grateful to the Caring Together staff and volunteers for all their help on the night and it is wonderful that the concert has raised so much money for such a crucial local cause.”
